The work we curate and the reforms we advance
NewCivics curates and distributes educational content and policy frameworks for civic education and democratic reform. Our work spans two dimensions: education that builds structural literacy, and advocacy that puts structural reform on the table.
Building structural literacy
People who understand how power works become architects of democratic change. People who don’t become its subjects.
The New Civics: Citizenship, Democracy, and Economic Power in the Modern World
The first civics textbook to integrate democratic and economic analysis through a single structural framework. Nineteen chapters organized in six parts take readers from recognizing the paradigms they inherited, through systems thinking, into the Four Pillars of Citizenship, and through evidence-based analysis of how votership, consumership, workership, and ownership actually function in America and around the world.
The book doesn’t tell you what to think. It teaches you how to analyze. International comparisons show the same working families with radically different outcomes depending on system design. You arrive at your own conclusions through evidence, not ideology.

Leading in Modern Civics: Civic Architects
A five-course university certificate program. Each course builds on the last.
Design of the United States Government
Learn the machine. The Constitution as an engineered system with deliberate design choices, tradeoffs, and consequences.
New American Civics
Apply the analytical lens. The Four Pillars framework and a structural toolkit that carries through every subsequent course.
Founders’ Intent
Test it against history. What the founders designed, what they compromised on, and what consequences followed.
Power, Narrative, and Foreign Policy
Confront the evidence. Two centuries of American foreign policy through primary sources, declassified documents, and structural patterns.
Recentering American Innovation, Prosperity, and World Peace
Build solutions. Engage with the New Founding Constitution, evaluate alternative models, and negotiate reform proposals through democratic deliberation.
The certificate produces citizen-architects: people equipped with the structural literacy to analyze, evaluate, and redesign the systems that govern their lives.

Structural reform, worked out to the last detail
Most reform proposals stop at the headline. Raise the minimum wage. Fix healthcare. Get money out of politics. These are goals, not plans. The advocacy work curated by NewCivics goes further. Every framework includes the structural detail required to implement what it proposes.
This work is developed by Quest Coalition and curated by NewCivics as part of our mission to advance civic education and democratic reform.
